Diagnostic Services
Early detection is essential for effective treatment—and at My Vet Animal Hospital, our advanced in-house diagnostic capabilities mean faster results and quicker care for your pet. With state-of-the-art equipment and a fully equipped on-site laboratory, we eliminate the need for long waits or outside labs in many cases.
In-House Laboratory
Our veterinary team can quickly perform a wide range of diagnostic tests right in the hospital. This allows us to begin treatment faster and offer immediate peace of mind to pet parents.
In-house testing includes:
- Liver enzyme screening
- Pancreatic evaluation
- Renal (kidney) profiles
- Pancreatitis testing for cats and dogs
- Complete blood counts (CBC)
- General chemistries
- FeLV and FIV testing (cats)
- Parvovirus testing (dogs)
If your pet requires specialized testing beyond our scope, we partner with trusted reference laboratories and ensure timely results.
Digital Radiology (X-rays)
Radiographs are a non-invasive way to examine your pet’s bones and internal organs. They’re commonly used to diagnose:
- Bone fractures
- Joint problems
- Soft tissue injuries
- Foreign object ingestion
- Dental issues
Most radiographs are quick and safe, though sedation may be necessary if your pet is uncomfortable or if we need them to remain completely still for more advanced imaging.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound offers a detailed, real-time look inside your pet’s body, using sound waves to visualize organs and tissues. It’s especially helpful for evaluating:
- The liver, kidneys, spleen, stomach, and bladder
- Pregnancy and fetal development
- Heart function (via echocardiogram)
- Abnormal fluid accumulation
- Tumors or blockages
Ultrasound is safe, painless, and non-invasive. To ensure the best imaging results, light sedation is often used so your pet can remain still and relaxed.
