Johanna Schulz, DVM

Dr. Schulz grew up in Northern California, where she attended grade school, rode horses, and volunteered at the San Francisco Zoo. Her love of animals grew, leading her to attend UC Davis where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. After graduation, Dr. Schulz moved to Ohio, where she graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. During her time in veterinary school, Dr. Schulz was actively involved in multiple organizations, including the Student American Veterinary Medical Association, and obtained her Fear Free Certification.

Dr. Schulz has gained experience working with many different species of animals throughout her life, including dogs, cats, small mammal exotics, reptiles, amphibians, cattle, goats, horses, and zoo animals. Her favorite part about veterinary medicine is witnessing the strong bond between animals and their owners and being able to help strengthen it through practicing medicine and providing education. She also thoroughly enjoys the diversity of animals and people she meets every day! Dr. Schulz has special interests in oncology, behavioral medicine, and exotic animals.

At home, Dr. Schulz enjoys playing board games and putting together puzzles with her fiancé, Kyle. They have three pets together, including a cuddle-loving, rescued Dachshund mix named Odie and two spunky guinea pigs, Nut and Hazelnut. During her free time, she thoroughly enjoys crafting, exploring new food recipes, reading books, and walking outdoors. Dr. Schulz looks forward to meeting you and your pet!
