Kat Shih, DVM
Dr. Kat was raised in central Illinois and is a true Midwestern girl at heart. Her love for animals started early—her childhood dogs were the center of her world and ultimately sparked her passion for veterinary medicine.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science from Bradley University and went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Kat’s professional interests include soft tissue surgery, ophthalmology, and endocrinology. She’s also a strong advocate for the spectrum of care—finding practical, personalized treatment solutions that meet each family’s unique needs. While her experience has primarily been with small companion animals, she’s excited to expand her expertise into backyard poultry medicine to further support families in her community.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Kat is a talented musician who enjoys playing guitar and singing at local Columbus venues. She’s also an avid weightlifter and loves teaming up with her husband for some good old-fashioned co-op video games.
At home, she’s mom to two rescue French Bulldogs, Phoebe and Wilson. Phoebe, who was born without eyes due to a congenital condition, doesn’t let her blindness slow her down one bit. She’s the queen of chaos—and Wilson’s constant source of mischief!
